    Biography
    • Nixon, William, a pioneer merchant of Salt Lake City, Utah, and a resident of the Fourteenth Ward, was born Feb. 4, 1817, at Brampton, Cumberland, England, the son of Robert and Isabella Nixon. He emigrated to America when quite young and came to Utah in 1852, where he established himself in business, and later became known as one of the pioneer merchants of the Valley. Bro. Nixon was married three times. As an Elder in the Church he was called on a mission to Carson Valley about 1856, but returned to Salt Lake City in 1858, on account of the Johnston army troubles. Bro. Nixon died in Salt Lake City, Aug. 18, 1862.
